Electric favors convenience
Corded electric pressure washers start easily, require little engine maintenance and are well suited to vehicles, patios and routine residential work when their output is sufficient. They depend on a properly grounded, GFCI-protected circuit and careful separation of electrical connections from water.
Gas favors higher output and mobility
Gas models commonly provide greater flow and pressure for large concrete areas and sustained cleaning. They can work away from an outlet but require fuel, oil and engine maintenance. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, so gas pressure washers must never operate inside a home, garage, basement or other enclosed or partly enclosed space.
Water supply still limits both
The inlet must deliver the flow and pressure required by the machine. Starving a pump can cause poor performance and damage. Use the specified garden-hose size, remove kinks and purge air before starting according to the manual.
Compare the whole ownership pattern
Consider hose length, cord or fuel logistics, pump type, storage, winterizing, noise and expected session length. A lighter electric unit that is quick to set up may finish frequent small jobs sooner; a gas unit may reduce time on large surfaces despite more maintenance.
