Wider decks reduce passes but add load
A wider cutting deck covers more ground per pass on open lawns. It can be harder to maneuver between trees, gates and beds and may require more power. Measure the narrowest access point and storage doorway before choosing width.
Lawn area is not the whole runtime story
Slope, grass height, moisture, blade sharpness, walking speed and self-propel use change energy consumption. Manufacturer acreage claims are usually based on stated test conditions. Allow margin for the worst regular mow, not the easiest week.
Battery quantity changes workflow
Two smaller packs may provide flexibility across tools or allow one to charge while another runs. A mower using two packs simultaneously requires both to begin. Check charge time, cooling delay and whether the charger can refill all included batteries before the next session.
Cutting modes affect demand
Mulching keeps clippings circulating until smaller, which can increase load in dense grass. Bagging adds weight and requires stops to empty. Side discharge may move heavy growth more easily where permitted. Variable blade-speed or load-sensing systems trade power against endurance automatically.
